Valentine’s Day in Central Illinois

For everyone trying to find something special to do next Friday (Valentine’s Day guys), we’ve done you a favor. Luckily, there’s plenty of ways to make the night something your loved one will never forget in Central Illinois. From baseball stadiums to vineyards and wineries, we’ve broken down some of the featured invents in the Peoria Area.

Take advantage of the many opportunities there are in the area to make next Friday a memorable night for your significant other!

Couples have the opportunity to book a private or semi-private suite for dinner on Thursday, Friday or Saturday. This dinner for two includes soft music, flowers, a moonlit view of Peoria, and all-star treatment from the moment they walk into the ballpark.

The private suite for two is $99 and the semi-private suite is $69 with reservations available between 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Couples will choose from an assortment of appetizer and soup/salad menu options and two side dishes. Each person will also choose one of the many tasty main entrees.

Peoria Zoo

Learn about the “facts of life” in the animal kingdom at The Peoria Zoo on Saturday, February 17 from 2-4 p.m. From videos to meeting animals up close, this will give you a whole new perspective on the complicated, beautiful and sometimes-bizarre courtship rituals of the animal kingdom!

Coffee and light refreshments will be served. It costs $15/person or $25/couple and reservations are required. If you have any questions or would like to make a reservation, call 309-681-3559.


Wildlife Prairie Park

The “Wild About Love” event at Wildlife Prairie Park includes a giveaway for one special couple to the Cabin on the Hill! The night will include an open bar from 6-7 p.m., a five-course meal, gifts for all the couples and even a dance floor for only $150 per couple.


Luthy Botanical Gardens

Celebrate Valentine’s Day a bit early and in a special way with friends or your true love with an evening of music, food, wine and roses! “Wine and Roses” is being held at the Tropical Conservatory, featuring music by Joe Metzka Trio, appetizers, desserts and a cash bar.

Par-A-Dice: Make this a special night by booking a room for $159 plus tax. Also, don’t forget to check out Boyd’s Steakhouse for an extraordinary dinner.

Peoria Pere Marquette: Reserve a room for only $140 per night, which includes a warm breakfast buffet in the morning! Also, be sure to take a peek at the dinner specials at Table 19.

Holiday Inn and Suites East Peoria: Call and reserve a king-sized room for $117. Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse is also offering a dinner special for $30 per guest, with a choice of salad, entrée, and dessert.

Wingate Hotel: Book a standard room for $189 or a suite for $199, as part of the special package that includes dinner at Alexander’s, champagne, roses, complimentary transportation and a hot breakfast bar in the morning.

Embassy Suites: Get a bottle of champagne and a box of chocolates as part of their romance package.



Two 25: Recently named “Best Upscale Dining” in Central Illinois, they’ll be running their standard menu, along with a couple of featured specials to help create a night you’re loved one won’t forget.

Granite City: Make your reservations for the “Beef & Reef for Two” special that includes an appetizer to share, a choice of soup or salad, along with grilled sirloin, salmon, and crab, hash browns, asparagus, and each with the choice of dessert. All this for only $39.95 per couple.


Wineries & Vineyards

Mackinaw Valley Vineyard: Join the vineyard for a tropical evening getaway for a murder Mystery dinner and comedy. Reservations are required and the cost is $45 per person plus tax for the interactive murder mystery drama and a buffet dinner and dessert served by The Catering Company. Kickapoo Creek Winery: “Sweetheart Dinner Wine Pairing” includes a five-course gourmet dinner and a wine pairing with each course. Also, the night will feature a tour, a complimentary rose and picture taking. Call 309-495-9463 and make your reservation for this $60 dinner.



Jeremie Draper Fine Blown Glass: Participants will have the opportunity to make their own heart-shaped paperweight on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. No reservations are needed.

Wheel Art Pottery: Make reservations for you and your date to enjoy dessert, chocolates, wheel throwing, sweetheart art activities and a photo for only $60. The fee includes all of the supplies that you will need and the artwork you’ve completed during your visit.
